"The Good Fight" was written to honor Brian Kozel, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, skinhead who was murdered by non-whites in 1991.

An emotional live performance of "The Good Fight" can be seen on Northlands, a video documenting Bound for Glory's 1995 concert in Sweden.

Ed says...
"In 1990-91 I traveled to Milwaukee to meet up with some friends there. Upon our first night there we went to a party where some comrades were. At this party I had the pleasure of meeting Brian Kozel for the first time. He was a very energetic, positive guy who was basically the 'leader' of the group of skins from his town. I could tell he was well respected and liked. Just that night I had seen him get 'Skinhead' tattooed on his neck. I saw that this kid was no fly-by-night and that he had 100 percent conviction in his beliefs. He was also very intelligent. You could tell he had a good future ahead. After we left, I stayed in contact with him. He seemed to be doing real great for himself and his friends. Then one day I got the call that he was murdered. It was a shock to me. Apparently he was with some friends at a bar in Milwaukee, and after they left they were confronted by a group of Mexicans. A fight ensued in which the Mexicans got the bad end of the stick. Rather than fight like a man, one Mexican pulled out a gun and shot Brian in the back. He died shortly after. There are people in the mainstream out there who probably don't understand just how dangerous it is out there, or they think that because he was a skinhead, he brought this on himself. But the mainstream has been so desensitized that they forget about what it means to be proud of who and what you are. Brian died as a free man with a free will, not bound by any material possessions or feelings of guilt. He died for what he believed! This song is a tribute to him. He's not the first and he will not be the last."

Song Lyrics
Listen to my story that I'm about to tell
It doesn't have much glory:
it's about a man who fell
About an Aryan brother
who had many more things to see
Why couldn't it have been another?
I would have rather it had been me
He fought the good fight for his nation
He fought the good fight to his creation
He fought the good fight
for white salvation
He fought the good fight for his nation
He had many more things to see
I would have rather it had been me
But now his spirit is forever free
Still, I'd rather it had been me
He walked out of his doorway
without knowing he'd never return
To have a white night was his only concern
But little did he know
that his time was running out
For on that final journey home
he heard the enemy shout
He was killed for his racial pride
You try to tell me it was justified
And because you take the enemy's side
You're just going to let it slide
Tell me what is wrong
with this country we live in
After all the white blood
that has been given
Justice is still a far cry away
With how much more blood
do we have to pay?
An act of cowardice takes the place
of another warrior of our race
We lost our comrade on that fateful night
But deep in our hearts
we'll carry on his fight
Shots were fired, a cry was heard
on that endless night
But although he was struck,
he fought with all of his might
And in that room, in that bed
where that warrior lay
The fire still burning in his eyes,
as you could hear him say:
I fought the good fight for my nation
For my people and my right
to my creation
I saw the light of white salvation
I fought the good fight for my nation
He had many more things to see
I would have rather it had been me
But now his spirit is forever free
Still, I'd rather it had been me
